The project

Our editorial approach

Start with a question, return to the sources

Our aim is to make history engaging without losing sight of the evidence. Source lists provide a starting point for further reading. A compelling story should not turn a disputed account into a certainty.

Separate evidence from reconstruction

The videos may use AI-generated illustrations to help explain a setting or event. These are reconstructions, not historical photographs. Articles use credited historical or documentary images where available. Image credits and source links let you follow the material back to its origin.

Treat disagreement with care

Historical dates, motives and interpretations can be contested. Our approach is to distinguish established facts from debated interpretations and later traditions, and to attribute differing accounts rather than turn them into judgements about communities today.

Language is part of the story

Each edition is written for its own audience. Names and expressions can differ across languages while referring to the same person, place or event. A translation should preserve the meaning and uncertainty of the underlying account.

Corrections and suggestions

If you spot an error, comment on the relevant video with the article title or URL, the detail in question, and a supporting source. The channel links are listed under our language editions. We welcome specific, verifiable corrections.
